Tooba Roshan is a highly accomplished Afghan-American architect and builder who serves as a prominent leader in both the high-end luxury design and construction sectors. Her professional journey spans over four decades of academic development, architectural practice, and construction project management across Maryland and Virginia.

Under the banner of TR Construction Group, Roshan has designed and executed a diverse range of physical structures including custom luxury homes, restaurants, shopping centers, and assisted living facilities. Today, she focuses exclusively on designing and building high-end luxury detached single family homes.

Her custom home projects include Noor Mahal, Gable Maison, King’s Retreat, Gold Maine, Imperial Crown, and Urban Cascade.

Her primary projects are concentrated in several prominent cities across Maryland and Virginia, including Montgomery County, Anne Arundel County, Davidsonville, and Stafford.

Evolution of TR Construction Group

Tooba Roshan’s career as a business executive began in the year 2000, when she co-founded AR Architecture Group with her late husband, Mohammad Ashraf Roshan, providing comprehensive architectural services in Maryland and Virginia. Recognizing the industry’s shift toward integrated delivery models, she expanded the firm’s capabilities in 2015 by launching TR Construction Group. This strategic expansion successfully transitioned the business into a comprehensive design-build firm.

Following the passing of her husband and business partner in October 2017, Tooba Roshan took sole charge of the operations to keep his legacy alive. Today, she serves as the Principal Designer of the unified AR Architecture – TR Construction Group, running it as a dual-duty architecture and construction firm. Under her leadership, the company manages all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that structural design, zoning compliance, and hands-on construction are coordinated under a single entity.

Academic Background and Professional Credentials

Tooba Roshan’s professional traits are backed by a rigorous academic foundation. She originally began her architectural studies when she enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering’s Department of Architecture at Kabul University in 1979. Due to the Soviet invasion, she was forced to flee her homeland in 1983 and resettle in the United States, where she initially worked in entry-level drafting and remodeling roles.

Roshan demonstrated a lifelong commitment to education, attending classes part-time while simultaneously raising her family and managing her growing business. She earned an Associate’s degree from Anne Arundel Community College in 2002. She subsequently attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she graduated summa cum laude on the Dean’s List in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Interior Design. She is also affiliated with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as an Associate member.
