The Opportunity

TR Construction Group, LLC seeks an experienced Service Manager / Field Supervisor to direct daily workflow and oversee the quality, safety, and productivity of our residential plumbing crews. Reporting to the General Manager, this person creates proposal for builder clients’ new construction projects from rough-in to completion, assigns and schedules work, supports dispatch, inspects job quality and code compliance, coaches technicians, and keeps jobs moving from the first customer call through completed, invoiced work.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of plumbers and apprentices.
  • Read residential & commercial builders’ plans to create accurate proposals.
  • Support dispatch — match the right technician to each job and keep the daily board moving efficiently across the service area.
  • Inspect work progress and job sites to verify safety and that work meets specifications and the WSSC plumbing code.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications to determine job requirements and plan procedures.
  • Review estimates, quotes, and completed work for quality, code compliance, and profitability.
  • Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate technicians; help develop apprentices toward licensure.
  • Track and analyze job and sales performance (KPIs); identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Manage the customer experience and resolve escalated service issues professionally.
  • Coordinate materials, scheduling, and vendor needs; help manage department budget and productivity.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of service technicians; confer with other managers on staffing.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety practices and company policies.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive residential & commercial plumbing experience plus supervisory or management experience.
  • Thorough command of the WSSC plumbing code, permitting, and inspection processes for Montgomery/Prince George’s.
  • Proven ability to lead crews, manage schedules/dispatch, and handle customer relations.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Licensing: WSSC Journeyman or Master Plumber license strongly preferred — and required if this role will pull permits or directly supervise licensed work in WSSC territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive residential & commercial plumbing experience plus supervisory or management experience.

Compensation

  • Salary (recommended): ~$85,000 – $114,400 / year, commensurate with experience and leadership scope.
  • Hourly equivalent: $41 – $55 / hour.
  • Bonus / commission: Profit sharing after company meets its yearly goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50–75 lbs; occasionally more with assistance.
  • Work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and trenches.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
